I have a core belief that when you are ready to heal, have the tools available to you, and feel supported and safe, you WILL heal!

·        Do you struggle with negative thoughts?

·        Are you anxious, panicked, numb, frozen, angry, or depressed?

·        Do you find it difficult to open up to someone or talk about private traumatic experiences? (The loss of a loved one, job, friend, home? A natural disaster? An intimate violation? Discrimination? Spiritual confusion?)

·        Is your ability to go to work, go out with friends, spend time with family, or have close relationships difficult?

If YES, then I am here to help you!

My passion is helping others to find and embrace the best version of themselves. I want to help you discover your strengths, enhance them, change negative thought patterns, learn ways to manage your emotions, build healthier relationships, and help you find ways to be satisfied with your own wellbeing.

You must know, there is a freedom in discovering YOU and being comfortable in your daily life or doing what makes you feel good.

What do you need to know about me? I have a culturally diverse background, assisting me in developing the belief each person is unique and deserves to be treated with respect, listened to, feel safe and heard. I believe our family of origins are often the place we begin our journeys as therapists. It might help you to know that I am from a multicultural, multiracial, blended family. Growing up in such a family has exposed me and sensitized me to experiences outside our dominant culture. I believe this makes me a more empathetic therapist with the ability to recognize and validate experiences that would not otherwise be my own. I am committed to creating an environment where you can be safe, be yourself, begin to heal, learn, and grow in the direction you want and need.

My approach to counseling is an integration of research-based methods with a combination of person-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based. I utilize techniques in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Play Therapy.

My scope of practice includes working with adults and couples. I have several years of experience working with the (SMI) population – individuals diagnosed as severely mentally ill, personality disorders, substance abuse/use, addictions, residential and crisis treatment, and private practice. I have experience providing individual, couples, and group counseling, site management, staff supervision, and clinical training for non-profit agencies providing direct clinical care.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat individuals with various types of anxiety, and with sexual, emotional, racial, spiritual, and physical trauma. I am currently trained and pursuing certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method to treat couples.

I am HERE for YOU in navigating your life’s journey!
